Stated again, the principal priority of the Biodiversity Research Consortium is to develop methods and databases to allow a scientifically defensible national assessment of priorities for habitat and biodiversity protection. To meet this priority, our research program has the following four major objectives:

To analyze biological diversity nationwide To search for correlations between species diversity and environmental diversity To evaluate the comparative risk to biodiversity using species diversity, environmental diversity, and stressor information To begin developing approaches to managing environmental diversity in order to achieve species diversity goals
