The Biodiversity Research Consortium

Stated again, the principal priority of the Biodiversity Research Consortium is to develop methods and databases to allow a scientifically defensible national assessment of priorities for habitat and biodiversity protection. To meet this priority, our research program has the following four major objectives:

  • To analyze biological diversity nationwide

  • To search for correlations between species diversity and environmental diversity

  • To evaluate the comparative risk to biodiversity using species diversity, environmental diversity, and stressor information

  • To begin developing approaches to managing environmental diversity in order to achieve species diversity goals
